Global Kids is now enrolling for the 2010 LEVEL UP! Gaming Summer Bootcamp for Youth
Level Up!, designed for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors, is a week-long summer intensive that will train youth in basic game design, global literacy, and how to combine the two into a serious game design addressing a critical social issue.
We blogged about the launch of our new Playing 4 Keep summer camp Level Up! back in April, but it's great to see the word getting out across the web.
From Time Out Kids NY:
Level Up! Bootcamp Instead of spending the summer playing video games, kids get off the couch and learn how to design them. With the help of professional game designers, children work together to create a final design that centers on a social or global issue—and doubles as a social-action campaign. Global Kids, 137 E 25th St between Third and Lexington Aves, second floor (sites.google.com/site/levelupbootcamp). Camp runs Jul 26–30, Mon–Fri 9am–5pm. $1,000. Ages 16 to 18.
And, NBC local New York site highlights Level Up!
