Congrats to the Winners of 2010 MacArthur Digital Media and Learning Competition!

We are excited to pass along the news that ten winners have been selected for the 2010 Digital Media and Learning Competition! Sponsored by the MacArthur Foundation and HASTAC, this year's competition drew more than 800 applications from 32 countries. The ten recipients of grants were announced today on the MacArthur website.

The winners included several projects that focus on digital games and virtual worlds, including:

  • Click! The Online Spy School: Emily Sturman, Carnegie Science Center, Pittsburgh, PA

  • Nox No More: Rosanna Garcia, Northeastern University, Boston, MA
  • Conservation Connection: from the Westside to the Pacific: Joshua Drew, The Field Museum, Chicago, IL
  • and Scratch and Share: Mitchel Resnick, MIT Media Lab, Cambridge, MA

    Global Kids was honored to be the recipient of a grant from the 2008 HASTAC Digital Media and Learning competition to support the development of RezEd, the largest online social network for virtual world educators.
